About Us

Founded in 2025 to Elevate Knowledge, Leadership, and Advocacy in Multilingual Education.

With more than 50 years of advancement in multilingual education, the moment has come to establish the "Multilingual Education Hall of Fame." This initiative is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating exceptional contributions to the field each year. It honors the trailblazers of multilingual education who have paved the way for the next generation of leaders in the field.

Honoring Inductees into the Multilingual Education Hall of Fame will be celebrated through:

  • Hall of Fame Medal: A symbol of their impact on the field.
  • Digital Media Spotlight: Exclusive interviews highlighting their contributions.
  • Biographical Feature: A dedicated write-up on the Hall of Fame website.
  • In-Person Recognition: At this time, honorees will be celebrated the annual NABE Conference.

By celebrating the achievements of multilingual education leaders, the Hall of Fame inspires a new generation of educators, advocates, and pioneers.

Contributing Organizations

The Multilingual Education Hall of Fame is a collaborative initiative, inviting leading organizations in the field of multilingual education to take part in its stewardship. Committee organizations will be announced in 2025.

Criteria for Membership:

Nominees must demonstrate a sustained impact in multilingual education, with at least 20 years of active involvement in the field. Candidates should be widely respected by their peers and recognized for their significant contributions, including but not limited to:

•   Authorship of influential publications or research on multilingual education.

•   Leadership roles in organizations or initiatives advancing multilingual learning.

•   Mentorship and preparation of future leaders in the field.

Process:

Each year, members of the Hall of Fame nominate new candidates for consideration. The nomination process includes a review by a committee of current members, followed by a vote to determine inductees. Inductions are celebrated annually at a dedicated event where the achievements of new members are recognized and shared with the broader educational community.

We look forward to honoring those who have shaped the future of multilingual education and inspiring generations to come.

  1. Initial Induction: The inaugural class of inductees will include pioneers who have paved the way for multilingual education.
  2. Annual Nominations: Each participating organization will have the opportunity to nominate outstanding individuals for consideration.
  3. Committee Voting: Member organizations will vote on nominees to determine the annual class of inductees.
